This week's share includes:
(lots of beautiful patty pan this week)
yellow string beans
hot peppers (jalapeno and serrano)
cucumbers (pickling and lemon)
head of lettuce
Can you believe it folks? We have hit the halfway point of the Zephyr farm share season. I hope you have been relishing the abundance of fresh produce that Michele and her crew harvest each week. I love seeing what's in the harvest bins every Tuesday.
In preparation for a camping trip to the middle of Maine, I made a summer stew using the peppers (hot and sweet), squash and tomatoes. Enveloped in a foil packet, we'll eat it on top of polenta and maybe even top it with a fried egg. It's a simple yet satisfying meal to eat around the campfire.
Enjoy the harvest,
