CSA 2013: week 2




This week's share includes:
a cucumber
fennel
kale
broccoli
red rosie romaine lettuce
garlic scapes
zucchini
snap peas
napa cabbage
scallions

I get pretty excited about fennel and tonight I learned a new trick for shaving it thinly. I was using a vegetable peeler to remove the little rough patches from the outer layers when I realized that the thickness of these shavings was perfect for the kale and fennel salad I was making. So I just kept on peeling strips of the fennel until the bulb was gone and a little pile of tasty shavings was in it's place.
