Uncle Butch's Refrigerator Pickles

Are the cucumbers starting to pile up on you? Well, you may want to try your hand at dill pickles. These are quick and easy- no special equipment needed!

Uncle Butch’s Refrigerator Pickles
1 1/2 cups vinegar
2 quarts water
1/4 cup salt—non-oxidized
1/2 cup sugar

Boil long enough to dissolve sugar and no longer, or the vinegar will evaporate. Remove from heat to cool.

Pack cukes ( cut in half or quartered) Add garlic and dill to taste on bottom of jar and some on top. Pour vinegar mixture over cukes. Let stand on counter overnight. Refrigerate next day. Let stand in refrigerator for 7 days before eating.
